この移住体験が始まってから、私たちが常に感じる鞍手町最大の魅力。それはここに住む方々の暖かさと、地域を支えている一人一人の「力」

この魅力をお伝えするため、私たちなりにこんな企画を考えてみました。

その名も「鞍手の手」
地元で働く地元の手。
鞍手を支える鞍手の手。

Since the beginning of our stay,
the warm and cheerful harts of local people have been our strongest impression of the town of Kurate.

In order for us to share this great charm of the town, we came up this idea 「The Hands of Kurate」

第四回目ご登場いただく方は、松野 賢珠（まつの けんじゅ）さん

浄土真宗本願寺派円覚寺の１６代目ご住職（ご院家）さまでおられ、平成１９年にご退任なさいました。こちらのお寺の裏山にある、私たちがよくお邪魔をさせていただいているログハウス。このお方こそがこのログハウスの「ドン」であります！

ここに集まるメンバーの中では最年長でいらっしゃるにも関わらず、そのズバ抜けたバイタリティと好奇心には驚きです。美空ひばり・Jazz・インド音楽・クラシックと様々なお好きな音楽を、淹れたてコーヒーの漂う香りと共にDJされるセンス。自らオリジナルまで作ってしまう程の「手裏剣マニア」（写真でお持ちになっているのは棒手裏剣）そして私たちもその美味しさに驚いた、絶品のお手製グリーンカレー。また展覧会にも出展されるデッサンなどなど、とってもオシャレなお方です。

そんな素敵なログハウスの「ドン」は、私たちをいつも暖かかく迎え入れてくださり、やさしいお声で沢山のお話を聞かせてくださいます。このログハウスを訪れる者は皆、このお方の大きな優しさの中で、自由なひと時を過ごします。私たちもこのご縁に大変感謝しながら。

For the fourth time of 「The Hands of Kurate」 we would like to introduce Mr.Matsuno.

He is the 16th Chief Priest of Enkakuji (Temple), and had retired in 2007. He is “the Don” of the log house which we have been visiting.

Even though, Mr.Matsuno is the oldest one among the members who come to the log house, he has the highest vitality and curiosity. He DJs his favorite music from the Japanese old popular song (such as Hibari Misora), the Jazz, Indian traditional music, the classics and etc to create a perfect atmosphere along with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the House. He is also a big “Shuriken” (throwing knife) mania. He loves them so much that he even makes his own (the one he is holding in the picture is a stick type Shuriken). He also cooks the BEST green curry we’ve ever tried. And, his dessin (drawings) at various exhibitions. He is a very“stylish" gentlman.

Above all that, he “the Don” welcomes us so warmly, and gently tells us many different stories. We are sure that anyone who visits this log house, will spend such a quality (warm and free) time with Mr. Matsuno. As we are so thankful for the each opportunities to meet him.

第三回目ご登場いただく方は、浦 のぞみ（うら のぞみ)さん。

社会福祉法人 鞍手ゆたか福祉会
障がい福祉サービス事業所「小牧ワークセンター」でセンター長をされている浦さん。私たちの突然の訪問にも笑顔で快く取材を受てくださいました。

生まれも育ちも鞍手町。「豊かな自然のある鞍手がやっぱり好きですねぇ」とおっしゃる浦さんは、開設から１８年になるこちらのセンターで、３年ほど前からセンター長として働いていらっしゃいます。

For the third time of 「The Hands of Kurate」 we would like to introduce Ms. Ura. She welcomed us with a smile even for our unexpected visit.

She was born and raised in Kurate, and she has been working about 3 years as a Chief of Komaki Work Center. "I love Kurate where we have a lot of nature around us!" says, Ms. Ura.

小牧ワークセンターでは...「知的しょうがいのある方の自主性を尊重し、生きがいをもって生活を楽しむための支援をします。また、将来自立した生活が送れるように、必要な生活支援をサポートしていきます。地域との交流を大切にし、開放的な施設作りを目指しています。」と、様々な支援活動を地域でされている団体です。

This Work Center was established 18 years ago to provide an environment for the people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy their lives through various working experiences and also to build up their confidence toward an independence.

こちらの大きな工房では、色々なクッキーやパンが皆さんの手で作られていて、できたてが購入できます！ センター中の甘ぁ〜いにおいにつられ、ついつい沢山並んだ色々な味のクッキーへ手が伸びてしまいますよ〜♬

There is a large bakery inside of Komaki Work Center, and so many different types of cookies and pastries are baked daily! The store which is located right next to it is open for public, so all the hand baked goodies can be purchased fresh out of the oven!!!

第二回目ご登場いただく方は、三宅 悟（みやけ さとる)さん。

最近お邪魔させていただいているログハウス建設の指揮をはじめ、その他様々なアイデアをどんどんと形にされているお方。「やればやれん事は無い！」とおっしゃる言葉には、とてつもない説得力を感じました。

お会いする度に、いつも笑顔で迎えてくださり「私は電気屋です。何かあればお申し出ください」と、オーバーオール姿でチェーンソーをブイーンブインさせている三宅さん。

山口県にある発電用の大風車の総合メンテナンスや、自ら設計された海水を飲料水に変える装置をハワイ島に設置されるなどなど、世界に大貢献されているもの凄いお方は、ここ鞍手についても、いつも真剣な眼差しで私たちに語ってくださいます。

私たちも負けてはいられません！！！

For the second time of 「The Hands of Kurate」 we would like to introduce Mr. Miyake.

He has been leading the log house project which we visited this last few days, and he continues to bring so many ideas in to reality!!! There is nothing could be more convincing when he says, "Nothing is impossible if we try!"

He always welcomes us with a big smile in a overalls with his chainsaw in his hand. However, on the other hand, he has been flying around the world to offer one of the best maintenance service for the wind farm in Yamaguchi prefecture or to build a machine on the Island of Hawaii that could transform the seawater into drinkable purified water.

He has been contributing so much to the world, but whenever he talks about the town of Kurate... we can still see the same passion in his eyes!!!

第一回目にご登場いただく方は、私たちも大変お世話になっている、嶋立 輝行（しまたて てるゆき)さん。

「おぎゃーと泣いてた子が、もう小学６年生だよー」と話してくださった嶋立さん。約１２年前に警察官として鞍手町へいらっしゃいました。定年されてからもここへの定住を決意され、現在は民生/教育委員としての多忙な日々、また地域の子供達やそのご両親と一緒に「遊びの森・鞍手」にて、毎月様々なイベントを企画運営されながら、勢力的に地域を盛り上げてくださっています！

まさに「いつも明るく暖かい、頼れる地元のおっちゃん」です！！！

For the first time of 「The Hands of Kurate」 we would like to introduce Mr. Shimatate.

He came to Kurate as a police officer about 12 years ago, and he decided to continue to live after his retirement. Since then, he has been a part of local board of education, and also organizes monthly events for the local children through a group call 「Asobi no Mori-Kurate」
